Burn bootloader error

Hi

I try to use my Stk500 to burn the bootloader for a nano Atmega328p chip ,then Iget this error.

Arduino: 1.8.5 (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino Nano, ATmega328P"

avrdude: WARNING: invalid value for unused bits in fuse "lock", should be set to 1 according to datasheet
This behaviour is deprecated and will result in an error in future version
You probably want to use 0xff instead of 0x3f (double check with your datasheet first).
avrdude: Expected signature for ATmega328P is 1E 95 0F
Double check chip, or use -F to override this check.
Error while burning bootloader.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

Where must the ''lock'' be changed?

How must I use -F?

Where must the signature be changed?

From various other discussions on the net I see that in Arduino15 / preference / you could change

the settings but this doc is 3 pages long and I dont see anything related in there.

This topic was discussed many times but I still fail to find a detailed description.

Thanks in advance.

It doesn’t need to be changed. Just ignore that warning. It is the expected behavior and doesn’t indicate any problem.

You don’t change the signature. You fix the problem that’s causing the error.

Please do this:

  • File > Preferences > Show verbose output during: > compilation (uncheck) > upload (check) > OK
  • Tools > Burn Bootloader
  • After the process fails you’ll see a button on the right side of the orange bar “Copy error messages”. Click that button.
  • Paste the error messages in a reply here USING CODE TAGS (</> button on the toolbar).
