Burned Arduino pro mini ?

Hello,

I made a little mistake in wiring my Arduino Pro Mini (5V @ 16Mhz). I put a 12V battery at VCC. After just a part of a second I noticed it removed the connection, but there smoke to see over the board.
Now I can't do anything with it. Only the red led works.
Is the Arduino death or is there a way to repair it ?

best regards

You could replace the Atmega chip, but I hardly think the effort would be worth it.

I don't know, a promini costs $14-15, a blank chip $4 or so.
Carefully snip the leads, unsolder the remnants, solder a new one & in learn how to program a bootloader into it.

Replacing a surface mount chip is a pain. You could try it but...
