I highly suspect the cost of gasoline will pass $5USD sooner than anyone would imagine.
Followed by ICE engines being made illegal.
Before spending $100,000USD on an engine rebuild you might consider a $5,000 remanufactured engine.
But it might be worthwhile to look at electric for the long term
