Hi there,
I want to create a device, which photographs butterflies from a white wall. For that purpose, I acquired a Camranger mp-360 pan/tilt head with wired remote control. The device works fine and I am getting great pictures when aiming my camera with remote controller.
However, I wish to control the mp-360 automatically. I think the easiest way to do it is to hack the remote controller with arduino. Remote controller connects to mp-360 via 7-pin din connector, which looks similar to midi keyboard connectors or the old style commodore 64 power connectors.
I opened up the remote control, and I found that the 7 pins lead to 7 wires. I assume that one of the wires is live (white in the middle, leads to resistor). Four of the wires lead to four-way d-pad. When I push one of the directions, it closes the circuit and mp-360 moves. Two of the remaining leads are for controlling speed, and may be ignored.
So, I would like to close the circuit of the live wire and with one of the four wires with arduino. Any help would be appreciated. I am happy to keep you up with the project
