There is nothing mentioned about external oscillator in the datasheet. Can anyone confirm whether an external oscillator can be connected or not. In the Schematics part it is shown that it can be connected while in the peripheral schematic it is shown as Not Connected (NC). I can't be sure whether I can or not.
What is a ESP32-PICO-D4?
Can you post a link to where you bought it from.
I didnt buy it yet but this one will do
Pico-D4
And this is the datasheet
esp32-pico-d4_datasheet_en.pdf (2.8 MB)
And another question, pin 13 and pin 12 are said as oscillator output and input, are they still usable as GPIO?
The data sheet shows that pins 43 & 44 are connected to a 40MHz crystal oscillator module.
The data sheet shows that pins 12 & 13 on an ESP32 are the crystal output BUT on an ESP32--PICO-D4 these are I/O pins 32 & 33. So there should be a way to switch these to I/O pins.
I must say this is not much of a data sheet by western standards and it is likely you will have to look at the links it contains to other documents to get a fuller picture of what you have here.
Thanks, I went to the discord server and someone answered. The pins can be used as GPIO and the ones which are said as NC for XTAl etc. can actually be used to connect the oscillator. I highly agree with the fact that this isn't much of a datasheet, more likely to be specifications sheet.
Thanks a bunch. Why did you not post this information when you had it.
Welcome to my ignored list. I won't be seeing you again.
I didn't know this information before posting it, but yeah, feel free to put me in your ignored list.
