CAN bus ID's

Hi,

For a project of mine I need to read can messages, store them on an SD and then analyse them using Matlab or simular software. I can read and store them using the sparkfun shield, no problem. Now i want to go to the analysing part: where can I find the ID's? When I turn the ingition on, there are 15 different ID's already and I have no idea what they are.
The car is a 2008 Nissan Qasquai, Is there a site where you can find the CAN data/ID overview or is this only available for mechanics etc?

Thanks!
Jens

Aren't those OBD-II ids? Check the wikipedia page for them and see if you can identify what those first packets are.

None of the ID's match the OBD list, here are some messages I recorded during a test on that car.
ID Data
682 10
35D 80 3 0 0 0 0 0 0
60D 88 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
358 81 0 80 0 0 0 0 0
625 62 0 BA E 3 BF
215 6FF 30 FF F FF FF
280 81 FF D0 10 0 0 FF C0
625 62 0 C6 E 0 8B
280 81 FF FD D0 0 0 FF C0
2DE 80 0 0 A B0 0 1E B4
2DE 80 0 0 A B0 0 1E B4
2DE 80 0 0 A B0 0 1E B4
215 6FF 30 FF F FF FF
215 6FF 30 FF F FF FF
2DE 80 0 0 A B0 0 1E B4

I recorded for only 20 seconds or so and got over 700 messages with 15 unique ID's I can't find.

This answer will take you some time to find, try contacting Nissan about the data, but do not expect a real answer. Most of the messages on the BUS are OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specific and confidential. As you found out there is a lot of communications going on.
Good Luck & Have Fun!
