Can I copy Arduino IDE to a DVD/CD disk and use ?

Wondering if I can copy Arduino Env. to a DVD or CD disk and use that disk on laptop.

Is this possible ? any pitfalls ?

What is the size of extracted arduino env ? Is it too big to be copied to disk ? -- Thanks

017 for me on Windows is about 230 MB including java. It also should work from a Stick. To make use of it with an adruino FTDI Drivers should be installed pior
