Can i copy the serial monitor output?

Is there a way to copy the Serial monitor output?
I would like to dump it all into a noiepad text file but I'm not able to capyure it all into the windows clipboard and don'i know if I can pipe it into an ASCii text file?

Thanks!

Simply use your favorite serial terminal. Teraterm or any other with logging capabilities...

There is a bug in IDE 2.x that makes it impossible to copy more than what you see.

I whole-heartedly agree with above advise to use a 3rd party terminal program if you want to log to file.

Thanks for the useful tio!

I remember being able to do it years ago with an older version.( must have been
pre-v2.x).......

1.x and older don't have the same issue.

Choosing the most suitable 3rd party terminal program depends on the OS your running it under.
for windows there are many PuTTY versions, and TeraTerm

but for windows I like Termite

its easy to use and doesnt requite installation
Under Linux I use CuteCom
