Can I power a breadboard arduino with a duemilanove?

Could I have factory made Arduino Duemilanove power a second "breadboard assembled" arduino, from the original's 5v line? would that work assuming that just the minimal componants needed to function were attached to the second "breadboarded" arduino ?

If it would work, about how many things could I attach to the second arduino?

All depends on the powerconsumption. I would coonect the 2nd Arduino through a 7805 voltage regulator which is connected to the Vin pin.

Be aware that the powersupply must be able to deliver ...

Yes it would work, if you can keep total +5vdc current drawn at under say 400ma or so. The limit is the USB 500ma max current or using arduino external power maybe a little more then that.
