Can I use these transistors for this sound preamp?

Hey, I am using this circuit: http://www.picaxe.com/docs/picaxe_sound.pdf

I couldnt find the 2 transistors needed for this project at my local store, but I found similar ones... will they work?

instead of the BC548B i used BC548
instead of BC558B i used BC557B

Any small signal transistor (npn/pnp) will work.
