Can not get RAMBo board to show up in "tools"

I have downloaded the "addons" and put the "RAMBo" folder in "hardware" and the "U8glib" folder into the "libraries" folder. Still no "RAMBo" board under "tools", "boards"

I want to use the LCD screen with the RAMBo on my 3D printer.

Can anyone help please?

To help you I will need some more information.

Can you please post a link of where you downloaded the RAMbo "addons" and let me know what version of the IDE you are using.

It is not so simple in the newer 1.5+ IDE’s with the new board manager. You can still manually add a board, but merging the directories by hand in the hardware folder is a bit of a hassle.

I have attached a zip file that you can unzip into the Arduino hardware directory, it will add a Rambo subdirectory and associated files … can’t remember exactly where I got all this, but it does add the Rambo board to the Arduino IDE in version 1.6.3 for me.

Not necessary to change any of other directories …

arduino hardware rambo.zip (23.2 KB)

Wow that worked! Thank you!

But I still have no LCD screen working, I went through all this http://reprap.org/wiki/RamboLCD too.

The screen is lit up, but just displays squares.

Any ideas?

Thanks again, Wayne

You need to set correct screen type in Configuration.h file in mine its line 414 ... uncomment that one and comment out the other one. Plus make sure all is plugged in correctly!

Humm, which lines? Any of these:

I have the 3D printer Reprap Smart Controller Reprap Ramps V1.4 LCD2004 Board module

I tried two of them, but no luck: //#define REPRAP_DISCOUNT_SMART_CONTROLLER and //#define REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER

Thanks again Wayne

Sweet, I now have the screen working!

But, lol

Now I have a new set of things to figure out. It says it is 464/0 Err: MAXTEMP and no bed temp, but at least I am making progress!

Thanks for the help, now back to reading and looking and searching for fixes ;-P

Great! Seems you may have thermistor wires plugged in wrong places? Remember to pay special attention to getting the first layer down right ....

Can you help me with one last thing please? I have everything working now, but LOL

When I print it extrudes way too much plastic, it is like it is trying to push 3 mm filament instead of 1.75???

A flow rate of 20 seems to work, looking for a place to change it in firmware.

Plus my parts a too thick, the Z axis is enlarged.

My extruder must be set different than what it is expecting?

I have looked in the firmware and changed a couple things but they made no change. There must be a setting somewhere to change this?

Thank you again,

wkinne

:) :) :)

I got it!

I learned so much it is crazy, but now my cheap Prusa i3 that came with a junk MKS Base V1.1 board is making perfect parts under the control of my new RAMBo controller.

I bought two Prusa i3's and both controllers died within three months >:(

Now to upgrade the second one

Thank you for your help, wkinne
