I am thinking of buying a SD shield for a current project I am working on. The pins used by the SD shield conflict with my wifi shield. If i make protoshield can I tell the arduino to switch pins used for the SD shield? Also anyone use a SD shield? Any issues with it? I was looking at getting this one http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/sd-card-shield-for-arduino-v21-p-492.html
Well that shield uses power pins as well so unless you want to remove the power connections and power it through jumper wires to the power then no.
The microSD shield from libelium does not use the power pins as well so it can be more easily moved. You will need to adjust the code for using different pins.
I think that SD and microSD shields use the SPI pins:
PI: 10 (SS), 11 (MOSI), 12 (MISO), 13 (SCK). These pins support SPI communication.
I think you cannot move them for that reason although I may be wrong.[/edit]
