Hi everyone, another newbie here. I have built an arduino based model train control system (DCC++), and now wonder if Arduino can be programmed for LED lights as shown in this video:
Yes, it can be done. This is done with addressable LED strips. They are available from all the usual sources of electronics supplies, including the Arduino Store:
There are a couple of popular Arduino libraries that make them easy to use:
Hi. Thanks for the reply. I've looked high and low for LED light strips, however I can't find anyone that sources them as small as these available at this site in Germany:
While these strips are specifically made for a amusement park ride kit, the site also sells small LED's that I can't seem to locate otherwise. If someone has a link to somewhere to get these (here in US), I'd appreciate a link.
Thanks for the replies and links to little LED's. I believe they're small as 50 of them come in a 200mm (8") strip, that's 4mm spacing. So the 2020's mentioned would probably do the job, but I'm looking for a pre-wired strip like the ones shown in this video:
Goal is to complete the amusement park kit shown in this video, with some LED light strips. Sadly the person that makes these in Germany doesn't (can't?) ship outside of Europe.
