-Genuine Uno R3
-Mac OSX 12.4/Arduino IDE 1.8.19
-Board up-to-date
-No issues on Win10 (can upload sketches with no errors)
-Loopback test successful on Mac via USB
-Correct board/programmer selected (Arduino Uno/AVRISP mkII)
-Error after flashing begins: avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
I've attempted restarting my laptop several times without success, as well as uninstalling/re-installing the IDE.
I get similar errors when my IDE monitor is opened before compiling or uploading. If you opened the IDE monitor/debug window, close it, close IDE, remove and insert the Uno, and open the IDE again.
Found the solution. Need to use a genuine Apple USB C to USB A (Female) adapter. Works perfectly now. I was using a HooToo brand dongle from Amazon before.
