Can we make a laptop show a graphic display from arduino ?

Hi,

I wonder, can we make laptop/pc as a display from my project? My project is to display each room availability in toilet. I have used 16x2 lcd display,but I want my project also can display each room availability in laptop/pc. Is there any software or anything that I can use so that I can display in appropriate way like in graphic so people can easily understand while it read data from Arduino?
