Can XBee read the serial data comes from RFID tags diractly ?

I'm using an RFID module names "UM005" with a serial output (9600 bps/TTL logic), can XBee read these data & transmit it ?

I was under the impression that just about 100% of the XBees have a serial port. Isn't that the whole idea?
