Can you please add arrows or similar to scroll between forum pages?

And don't be afraid to bump up the font size a bit. Minimalism is always nice, but usability/UX is more important. And while I'm at it, please make it a bit easier to use on iOS, Perhaps it's an issue on other small devices as well?. When I am trying to click on my profile, it triggers the Advanced Search beneath it. Same goes for other elements that extends down over other links.

Cheers! :O)

You are confusing these kiddie toys with a workstation designed for serious work.

Stick to YouTube and be happy.

{Clearly the present font size is fairly optimal for a proper screen - you may need glasses - are you hitting 50? Touch screens are largely unusable for multiple options on a page; they are really for selecting between those couple of dozen apps on the home page. You are using a stylus, aren't you?}

What's with the attitude? Why suggest a member to "stick to YouTube" instead of simply taking these suggestions, as... suggestions?

Your reply is not helping in any way. It's more showing you off as a jerk.

AFAIK the forum software is quite an old version and the team behind the website (!= moderators) is working hard to get a newer version operational.
I do not know if the new version has support for tablets and phones. I recognize your remark for my android phone reading is ok but navigation is difficult without stylus.

Nope, not at all - just being realistic. You might be the jerk.

Smartphones are cute, but you simply cannot expect to do on a small screen what you can on a "conventional" one, particularly when it comes to "mousing". Why do you imagine we have essentially abandoned 15 inch screens for 22-24 inch ones except for POS? OK, it just might be for watching porn in HD, but do think about the reason.

What size screen do you use for work? I am as frustrated as you appear to be, navigating on a ten inch tablet touch screen. There is a solution - get a USB-to-go cable and plug in a mouse - that's what I have if I needed it but in fact I am simply sensible - I go to one of my PCs when I feel the urge for serious browsing!

I hate laptop or netbook keyboards too - all-critical cursor keys in wrong places and touch pads useless; I have a real keyboard and mouse cached wherever I need to do anything resembling work (or forums such as these).

The practicalities of this forum ("quite an old version"? - it claims to be 2013) are that it barely works in the first place with all sorts of problems as you will note in other posts here, so arranging a completely different, "dumbed down" presentation especially for smartphones which are still not really going to be a practical means of contribution (you would have to be particularly determined to type as much as I just have) is frankly, not likely to be high on the list of priorities - getting it working reliably should take precedence.

That will do, both of you. No more insults, thanks.

How to use this forum

Putting words in italics wont make you less of a jerk. Being rude, insulting and assuming things you have no idea of, will.

Smartphones are more than just "cute". For work I have two 27 inch monitors, but that's beside any point. I do expect sites today to work on my phone. Responsive design is more or less fundamental on any site developed the last years. It should work just as fine on a laptop as well as a phone, tablet or proper workstation - regardless of screen size and resolution.

You are somehow confusing ease of use with dumbing down things. Why, I have no idea. I've worked as a front end developer/designer for several years and have been lecturing about UX/usability design. Arrows for paging and larger text in smaller devices is pretty much standard these days, in fact, it has been for several years. I know very well it is not that hard to implement. And it's not dumbing down in any way. Not at all. It's just making things easier to use.

robtillaart, thanks for your reply. I'm not that familiar with the current solution. As far as I know proper responsive design will come in version 2.1, which is still in beta. Let's just hope it will come soon.
