When I try to download the USB driver, a box for winzip21 opens asking me to pay money for the FreetronicsUSBDrivers_v2_2.zip. Is this true? Must I pay? Doesn't Freetronics provide this free?

Is there no other way to get the USB driver than by paying winzip21?
Just don't use winzip21. Windows has built in zip file handling. You can treat the downloaded file as a folder. If you want a good free file compression utility try 7-Zip.
I just downloaded and unzipped FreetronicsUSBDrivers_v2_2.zip without any problems.
