Newbie here. I have successfully created my first "Thing" and ran it. Works as advertised. But now I am stuck on "2-step verification" (and confused). I can't log into my account on my iphone. When I try it asks for "... a verification code from the Authenticator app." I have no idea what to do at that point. When I try to disable "2-step verification" on my PC by clicking on the link I get a message indication an email will be sent but I never get that email.
You may get help with that issue here, but it might help to email support about that as well: Contact us | Arduino
When you enabled Two Factor Authentication you were shown a QR Code to be fed into the Authenticator App of your choice. This gave the Authenticator a magic number associated with your account. From that magic number, the Authenticator app generates a 6-digit number that changes every 30 seconds.
When you log in from a new browser or IP address the website needs you to prove that you are you by getting the current code from your Authenticator app.
I don't remember exactly what happened during the process to enable Two Factor Authentication but I still don't understand just what "the Authenticator App of your choice" means. I don't recall ever choosing one. In any case I would just like to somehow disable it. When I try to login on my iphone I always get "account not found or wrong password" and if I choose sign in with Apple,Google, or Facebook that never works either.(Again, I can always login on my PC). I am thinking about the only way out of this is to delete my account, make a new one and start over... which I don't really want to do.
Also, when I try to "sign in with Google" I get a VERY SHORT message "Verification Locked", whatever that means.
In your apple store (or whatever it's called) should be one or more applications for two-factor authentication. Pick one and install on your phone.
Every time that you login on this side, a message is send to that application and you need to confirm.
Solved! I felt as though I had done something wrong when I enabled 2-step verification, so I made repeated attempts to disable it but never got the promised email. That was yesterday. Then, out of frustration more than anything else I tried disabling again today. After a bit I receive the promised email. Hit the link and now I can log in on my iphone and display my dashboard. Waa-Laa!
Thanks to those of you that responded.
