The device works from the Arduino Desktop IDE: I can upload the Example Blink sketch there.
I had another Nano ESP32 to try and after resetting the bootloader to get the right kind of serial port to appear (checking with the Arduino IDE), the device was recognized when I began the onboarding process but the firmware check fails with the same error dialog.
Install Arduino Create Agent with admin right. Then clear your browser's cache, restart it and the follow this guide Arduino Nano ESP32 IoT Cloud Setup Guide
. Use 2.4Ghz Wifi to connect it to the cloud.
I am using a Mac so the concept of "admin right" does not apply!!
I now am trying the process with a new Uno R4 WiFi board and it fails again, although a little bit differently. I am using Firefox instead of Chrome. I cleared the cache and restarted the agent.
Attaching a screen of the agent:
I start the onboarding process and after I am shown the dialog to name the device and then I get to a popup dialog that does not complete:
I never get to see the device ID and the secret key for the device.
What now?
I made sure that my computer's wifi connection was a 2.4 ghz one.
I updated the Uno R4 WiFi firmware to 0.4.1 manually through the IDE,
I tried to create a new Uno R4 WiFi device and made sure the agent is running and now the process hangs earlier in the process:
This is like the stoppage point I reported with the ESP32 Nano earlier in this thread.
If you are using macOS Ventura, check About Arduino Create Agent on macOS Ventura
.

Hi @jjs3579
I apologize for that bug. I was able to reproduce it at the time you reported this, but I just tried again and Arduino Cloud Device creation with a Nano ESP32 board is working fine for me so I think it was fixed at some time since. Please give it another try now and let us know whether the error still occurs.
Does the problem still occur if you try creating a Device with your UNO R4 WiFi board? I just tried it and it worked fine for me.
Thanks for the reply @ptillisch -- you often provide good advice.
I did try both devices again and they both worked without issue this time. The Uno R4 not needing a secret key now in the onboarding process was unexpected but I saw a previous post that commented on this. The Nano still provides the key.
You are welcome. I'm glad it is working now. Thanks for taking the time to post an update!

Hello, I had this problem and it was because I had the Arduino IDE running. I quit the IDE and the problem went away.
