Cant conect

I bought the arduino startter kit yesterday to start and explore. but I could never connect to the pc.

I try to do what is write in https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload

when connecting arduino uno windows (nor ubuntu) recognize the board. they only power it and the blink works.

windows 10 pro
arduino uno (from the arduino startter kit).
cant upload to the board

I have already tried on 3 different computers with windows 10 and an old laptop with lubuntu

the original "the arduino starter kit" https:/www.boxelectronica.com/en/kits/530-arduino-starter-kit-original.html.
just follow the instructions in the book to page 19.

the board when connected by usb (in 3 computers with windows 10, usb 3.0, and 1 with with ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS) and does not recognize it. only he provides electricity. turn on the light and run the blink.

the only com port that appears in Device Manager is this com1.
also nothing new appears when you connect the Arduino board ... it's as if it did not exist.

Have you tried a USB 2.0 port.
Some USB 3.0 ports don't work well with Arduino's.

If you only have USB 3.0 ports insert a USB 2.0 POWERED HUB between the USB 3.0 port and the Arduino to try that.

Does the com port disappear in device manager when you disconnect the Arduino?

I just try with usb 2.0 hub but it dont work.

port 1 is always there. does not appear or disappear when I change the arduino connection.

it does not detect the arduino nor hear the sound of when something connects the usb port.

Sounds like a bad USB cable. Have you tried a different cable?

Steve

I went to get a cable from an old HP printer and it seems that this solved the problem .... I think I can move to page 20.
Thank you all for your time.
