I'm a total newb trying to build the plant watering kit. I'm trying to import the template. On the step where I connect the nano rp2040 to my computer (mac, big sur) it's locate the device. I have the crate agent installed (latest as of today 1.2.7). tried restarting computer. tried disconnecting all other usb devices. lights come on so I know it's getting power.
Hi Odamone. I have the same problem. I am working on Mac M1 and Ventura. Did you get a solution?
nope, but only posted 7 minutes ago...
I got it connected, I don't know how.
You can try the following workaround:
Hi dbeamonte_arduino,
I am a newbie working with the Plant Watering Kit. I use a MacBook Pro M1 and for that reason I installed 1.2.7-ventura following the instructions. The problem I have is that IoT Cloud does not see the RP2040. I already tried all recommendations in the error page:
- I Restarted the Create Agent on the computer. (Quit it and loaded it again).
- I reconnected the device to the computer with a different USB cable and adapter (this computer
only has USB-C, but I tried on one Windows computer with USB-C and another Windows.
computer that only has regular USB ports) and made sure the power LED lighted up. - I reset my devices multiple times.
Following other advices, I reinstalled CreateAgent and clicked twice the RP2040's white button. Same problem happens in two different Windows computers, one USB-C port only and another one with a regular USB port. RP2040's color lights turn on (one solid green, one blinking orange, and one blinking light that changes from blue to green to light blue to red, pink, yellow, white.
This is what I have:
I opened this ticket with little more detail:
Could you please help?
Hello, can you check if you can upload an example sketch (Blink) using the IDE?
If that is successful, try adding the board to the cloud but when the Create agent is searching for the board try double-pressing the reset button. Let us know how it goes.
I didn't see any definite answers to this post. So reinitiating it.
Another newbie here trying to help my 10 yr old get the watering kit to work for a school project. The RP2040 (by itself) when plugged using a USB directly using its socket is able to connect, gets a port and I can see the board in IDE. Was able to upload Blink sketch also.
However, when I put it back into the Terminal Adaptor provided in the fully assembled watering kit and connect the usb power cables that came with the kit to the computer - nada. There is no ding that the device connected to the computer. The port in IDE is grey and Windows Device Manager does not show anything.
Appreciate any help! Thanks
Hello, @pbondon this seems to be a different issue from adding the RP2040 in IoT cloud. Can you open a ticket with us through the contact us form on this issue?
We would like to understand more about why the board behaviour when standalone and when connected to the whole Plant watering kit setup.
Thanks Jojo. Yes I have opened a support ticket (#255835) . I was exploring to see if someone in the Forum may have an answer as we are coming close to the project presentation date..
