Hello, I just got CC41-A 4.0 bluetooth module and I'm having trouble connecting to it.
I can pair with it using my android phone in settings, however if i try to connect to it through Bluetooth rc controller, it says unable to connect to device. The Bluetooth module light stops blinking when I try to connect, then resumes blinking when it says unable to connect.
Any help would be great, thanks.

Your objective is unclear. Is this an Arduino problem?
So, I want to control two motors that are connected to the motor shield, through bluetooth.
I heard rumour that the CC41 is not backward compatible with older versions of bluetooth. I don't believe it, but your symptoms might suggest it. I think this is the vital bit:

Is your Android BLE?
The Bluetooth module is ble, I'll try using the latest Bluetooth to connect.
