I'm first-time Arduino user so there's probably a simple solution. However, I can't see it yet.
I have the Arduino 12 IDE, and have loaded the latest USB drivers from FT. But the Duemilanove board still doesn't appear in the boards list on the tools menu. By default, the Diecimila is chosen.
Also, when the "Serial Monitor" is active, a constant stream of "ERROR:Pin 2-5" is received.
My O/S is XP Pro (Media Centre) with SP3.
Installed drivers are version 2.4.14.0, dated October 2008 from FTDI.
The IDE is Arduino 0012 alpha.
Any help would be appreciated, I'm stumped at this point.
I found that the list of boards was missing the Duemilanove with Arduino-0012 on Linux (Slackware 12.1, x86). I simply left the selection at "Diecimila" and it seemed to work.
I'm still mystified by why the USB connection isn't working. Besides the serial error I mentioned, when I try to force a communication (e.g. burn a new bootloader) I get a "Can't find USB device at xxxx/xxxx."
It's possible that my Gateway laptop isn't working and playing well with others, so I'll try the whole thing on a different system when I get home.
OK, still no connection with a different platform using W2K Pro.
Does anyone know if a Duemilanove core file it needed? I can see in the preferences.txt file that a specific board is named. Perhaps a new parameter set is needed for the Duemilanove.
I tried to force the communication by uploading a sketch, and the IDE hung up. The troubleshooting note for that problem ( http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#toc3 ) suggested killing LVPrcSrv.exe in the Windows Task Manager. Once that was gone, there was no more trouble.
On the left hand side, under "View" in the blue title bar, are three small tabs - "Messages", "Profile", and "Posts". Click on the Profile tab, then you can click on the "Edit Profile" link to change your profile.
I'm not sure how to get to the User CP page easily. I found it when I clicked on the message notification on my log-in page.
