Can't get computer to recognise any board except uno

I've installed the latest version of the arduino IDE on Windoows 10 and everything seemed to work after trying my uno. However when I try any other board like the nano or the mini pro it doesn't even seem to reconise it. When I got to the device manager none of the boards even showed up on the COM ports - it's as if they're not even connected. I'm at a loss as to what to do so if anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

You might need to install the driver for your boards. Most clone nanos are using the CH340 USB-serial chip so you would need the driver for that from CH341SER.EXE - 南京沁恒微电子股份有限公司. The Pro Mini would depend on which USB adapter you’re using.

Another possibility is if you’re using a charging USB cable on the Nano and Pro Mini that doesn’t have the data lines connected.

There also may be some issues related to using USB 3.0.

Thank you so much!!!! You were right, it was the USB cable that didn't have the data line connected.
