Can't manage my arduino up and running on Vista...

I Just got my arduino from the mail, plugged it in my computer followed the instructions given on Aruino.cc. I'm saldy "a Pc living with vista" to quote the apple Ad, and I cannot install driver manually, I plugged my arduino in my pc, a "new hardware found"popped, it searched the drivers automatically, "succesfully" installed them, then, nothing. I can't do anything.

Btw, yes the arduino program is installed.

Also, I have Ubuntu 8.04 in dual boot but I'm pretty much new to it.

Find your Device Manager and see what the USB Serial Port is. Mine was COM3. Then choose that port in the Arduino software.

I have Vista on a laptop and it worked the first try just using the drivers it automatically installed.

Yay it works! Thanks!
