Can't program ATTiny85

I keep getting errors trying to program an ATTiny. I setup a Nano with AruidnoISP. Then I tried to program the Tiny. The error message I get is shown below. The heartbeat is flashing. Everything looks to be hooked up ok. My settings are internal 1Mhz, Port 14, Processor Atiny85, Board Atiny 25,45,85, With Arduino 1.8.9. Is there something missing, that I need to do?

How did you disable auto-reset.

Have you burned in the bootloader first? It dosn't put a bootloader in it but it sets the internal configuration fuses.

I used a capacitor across RST and GND, to prevent the auto-reset. Grump Mike thanks, I had forgotten the bootloader. For some reason I thought it didn't need one. It now works. You guys were a great help.
