can't run basic examples

i’m trying to run the basic examples included with the arduino processing library, specfically the arduino_input example.

hardware is duemilanove, macbook OSX 10.5.8.

software is processing 1.2.1. i read somewhere that processing needs to be run in 32bit for serial to work, so am running it in 32bit. code is unmodified (serial port is correct at [0]), but i get the following error:

processing.app.debug.RunnerException: ClassNotFoundException: processing.core.PApplet

is this just an incompatibility between the arduino and my os?

Nothing to do at all with the arduino, it is processing that is giving you those errors, it hasn't even begun to talk to your arduino.
