so i got an arduino today, and i've been trying to mess around with it
after eventually getting it to connect to my laptop, i then tried to find and install the arduino.inf file, apart from the fact i cant find it anywhere in my files - i've tried to use my arduino without doing that, but it keeps on saying
'avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM3": The system cannot find the file specified.
Failed uploading: uploading error: exit status 1'
any ideas on what to do?
WHAT Arduino did you get? Is it genuine or a clone? What OS do you have(I assume windows with the COM3)?
Arduino.inf is in the drivers folder in the Arduino folder.
im not genuinely sure as i didn't order it
from what i know it is from micro hut
and its window 10 with COM3
also are you refering to the arduino folder that would be in documents?
ive seemed to fix it by moving it to a different COM - thanks for the help anyway
No, installatin directory (programfiles x86) or c:\users\yourUsername\Arduino15 (or something like that, not behind PC at the moment to verify).
Which version of the IDE?
