My arduino is an Eleven R3 with a ATMEGA328P - PU
it is by a company called freetronics and is described as UNO compatible.
I first installed the Arduino IDE 1.0.5 version and extracted it all and then the 1.5.7 BETA was suggested and I tried that too after uninstalling the first.
My problem lies in the fact that I go into control panel>device manager to find the arduino, but there is no sign of it in PORTS and is labelled as unknown device in other devices. I try to upload drivers, but windows always tells me i am unable to install unknown device. I have also downloaded the FTDI stuff, but that hasn't helped.
After a few days trawling the forum I am unable to find anything that solved my problem and I fell I have exhausted all my options. (i assume others have had this problem, however I may have been googling the wrong terms)
