Can't upload my .ino file to my Arduino

I am a first-time Arduino user and trying to upload a .ino file, but I keep getting this error and have no idea what to do:

Arduino: 1.8.10 (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Uno"

Sketch uses 2040 bytes (6%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes.
Global variables use 50 bytes (2%) of dynamic memory, leaving 1998 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.
An error occurred while uploading the sketch

Did you select the correct com port?

Perhaps the previous sketch is flooding the USB line before it gets reset. Try holding down the Reset button until you click upload and see the RX light flicker.
