Can't upload to RP2040 Connect with Linux Mint

Arduino: 1.8.12 (Linux), TD: 1.53, Board: "Arduino Nano RP2040 Connect"

Sketch uses 78840 bytes (0%) of program storage space. Maximum is 16777216 bytes.
Global variables use 53288 bytes (19%) of dynamic memory, leaving 217048 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 270336 bytes.

An error occurred while uploading the sketch

I can see the board, it also mounts, but no success uploading, I'm using the AVRISP mkll as the Programmer. Port is Board (RPI 2040)

Any help appreciated.

It is unlikely you're using AVR ISP with this board.

If you run ~/.arduino15/packages/arduino/hardware/mbed_nano/2.1.0/post_install.sh as root you will be able to use the Arduino IDE to program this board.

thank you, I ran the script and changed the Programmer to ArduinoISP and now it's working

The Tools > Programmer menu selection is only used when you are doing Tools > Burn Bootloader or "Upload Using Programmer". When you're doing a standard "Upload", the Tools > Programmer menu selection is completely ignored. So it makes no difference at all what you have selected from the Tools > Programmer menu.
