capacitive switch element control

Hi all, new to all this stuff, so bare with my stupidness lol. I'm after some info if anyone can help. I'd appreciate you taking the time thanks.
I want to control a 2400w heating element using capacitive switches/touch switches. Eg: touch one switch for wattage increase, Touch other switch for wattage decrease.
Is this a reality?. Thanks for any help.

Yes, very do-able. There are a lot of chips available with built in capacitive sensing but none of them are in Arduino boards. You will need to Google for a circuit to add to your Arduino.

Thanks mate, appreciate it. I'll do some googling.

This is for a element in a boiler for my still, most use a ssr and a pot for controlling the element. I want to replace the pot with touch sensitive switches, one switch for power increase, another switch for power decrease. I want it in small power increments for precision. I've been told I can use a arduino uno for this?, program the uno to act as a pwm, is this correct?.

Thanks for any help.
