The point is, you want common connection points. That way, there is no length of wire that is going to cause a ∆V [which lives as noise]. Doesn't matter what kind of power source.
So hopefully I've got that now...pics and link to movie of what the thing actually does...any further advice much appreciated...

The holder I use for the Trinket fits snugly in a 22mm hole and will clip through a frame that is about 1cm deep (like the IKEA "RIBBA" frame that I use). It holds the Pro Trinket extremely firmly and allows the user to plug it in easily.
