Hi All,
I'm going to have a crack at building an iSpindel for my home-brews! This is a digital hydrometer, which basically tells you how far along the brewing process has progressed.
Rather than follow everything to the letter and download their software, I'll probably write my own program for the sensor package since that's part of the fun.
Then I need some way of storing a temperature, and a value representing the angle the device is floating at (this is how you measure how much sugar is left in the brew). The data will be sent by wifi every 3 minutes or so.
There seem to be a multitude of ways of doing this: I have a synology NAS that I could install something on, or potentially since I'm likely to be around whenever the brewing is taking place, I could also use my MacBook. Not against some form of cloud service either.
Ideally each solution would have a way of performing simple calculations on the data, and displaying graphs for a selected period.
I would be interested to hear if anyone has any preferred solutions for this kind of thing,
Thanks,
Brutha
