Castle Creations ESC and Motor with Arduino

Hey everyone, I'm making a Rc car right now and I wanted to code it using an Arduino. For example, I wanted to use a screen to input a certain distance. Using this distance my Arduino would talk to the ESC which (I think?) should activate the motor. I plan on calculating the distance travelled use a rotary encoder. I'll list my materials below. The main problem I'm having right now is figuring out how to wire this all together (without a breadboard if possible) and then code it. If anyone from the community code give me guidance on this, I would EXTREMELY appreciate it. Thank you!

Also Sorry I forgot to include that the arduino and ESC are being powered seperatly

You have a lot of empty spaces. Draw what you believe to be a block diagram of every device you believe you will need.
