Im am trying to see if anyone knows of a good way to make a wall cell phone charger with a lcd display screen. All i want on the screen is it to say the % charged of the battery.
So what i envision is a very simple phone charger connected to a lcd display.
Is that plausible and would it be a difficult code to write?
A cellphone charger is not really a "charger".
It should be called a 5volt cellphone supply.
The actual "charger" is inside the cellphone.
Your cellphone might be able to send the charge info through the USB lead to an Arduino with LCD display.
But no experence there. Maybe someone else can answer that.

It would be very difficult to determine the batterystatus by measuring the current flow, since this is different from model to model, and also depends on how much power the phone uses for other things than charging.
You could connect to the phone via bluetooth (or maybe also directly from the already connected usb) and get the battery status from the phone via an app in the phone.
It's plausible, but it it would probably be easier to just take a look at the display of your phone.

Don't set off to try to do an impractical project. Change the project to something that will really work.
