Switching power supplies generally just kick out when overloaded (or shorted). No fuse needed for that part.
WS2812B LEDs do not have current limiting resistors on the strips. I don't know exactly how the current is regulated other than that it's all done on board. Those strips do tend to get pretty warm indeed!
OP: there are strips with different numbers of LEDs per meter. The lowest is 30, giving you 450 LEDs. That'll be more than enough to light up a bedroom, even a living room. Add diffusers for nicer light distribution. Your suggested number of 900 LEDs suggests you're looking at the 60 LED/m version.
