Change Atmega328p to Atmega8 on Duemilanove board ?

Hello,

for some reasons I need to use a Atmega8 instead of an Atmega328p.
Is it possible to exchange the Atmega328p (28pin DIL) on a Arduino Duemilanove board
by an Atmega8 ?
On a first view on datasheets seems to be pincompatible.
Are there any other changes required on hardware or Arduino IDE to easily use this
modified "Duemilanove" ?

It should just drop in, and be supported by the “Arduino NG or older” Board type with ATmega8 CPU.
(and you’ll need to program a bootloader somehow…)
