I'm an Arduino newbie and currently struggling in designing a sensor project which goes off only when there is a change in weight or pressure. The application is to place sensors under a stack of books which should only send a signal to the board if a book has been picked. There will be several stacks and not all stacks will have the same amount of books or weigh exactly the same (+/- 100g) so I need to set some sort of TARE function for each stack.
I have done my fair share of research and found load cells to be popular as weight sensors but I don't know if there is something better suited for this task.
I'm currently using PIR sensors and despite the fact that they're aligning to the stacks they go off as soon as there is movement 3-4m away, making them rather annoying and inefficient.
Thanks in advance
