Changing analog read resolution & increase ADC clock.

hi, i was reading this page(http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php/topic,6549.0.html), interesting read, and now i want to know is there any way to analogread resolution (i only need 6 bits) & will that allow me to use faster ADC clock with below 16 prescale ?

will it be a proper accurate 6 bit adc as it can be achieved by dividing the normal 10 bit adc ? i am using arduino uno board.
