Hi Folks,
I am trying to change the default assigned pinout of an LCD for a shield by editing the .h file on the libraries.
Since I wont be using the touchscreen i moved the signals to digital only pins so that i have the analogs available.
I dont need the reset pin (Using board reset) however if i comment them out on the h file I get an error while compiling:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino\libraries\SWTFT\SWTFT.cpp:28: error: 'LCD_RESET' was not declared in this scope
I am not familiar enough to be editing registers on the .cpp file, can someone give me some tips on what needs to be done?
Usually changing pin numbers in a library is accompanied by moving wires to the device. How are you going to rewire your sheild?
The LCD reset is attached to the arduino reset.
The LCD RD can be set High as I am only going to write to the LCD
The LCD CS Pin can be permanently tied to GND as the port will be exclusively used by the LCD.
As to rewire, yes, I hate shields
I will use this on an arduino mini and make my own PCB. with the required peripherals.
Exactly what was the change that you made? Can you post the code? For example, the original and the modified?
I am modifying the libraries just now. So far I managed to get rid of the reset, not he CS and RD (yet)
The change is what i described above. Essentially free up as many pins as possible by taking unwanted stuff (SD, Touch screen, etc)
luisilva:
The shield is this:

?
Is that a question or an affirmation?
Sorry, i left a question mark at the end of the post, so it was a question.
I don't know how to do: "click this link" (and, for example, the word "link" have already the link)
