[image] Josh_Blackburn: char XJoy[3] = {0}; This holds only 2 characters. You MUST reserve space for the largest expected string, plus one extra byte for the zero terminator. Google "C-string" for introductory tutorials on C/C++ character arrays.

I didn't realize the terminator consumed an index, but I suppose it doesn't make sense any other way. Thank you for pointing that out to me.
