Yeah no don't do that.
Make an aircraft that you can fly by remote control. Get that working, learn how to fly (or improve your flying skills)
Expand into autonomous flight operations. Always being ready to take control.
If you can't imagine why I recommend this, then do not fly anything.

So when you first make it and the code isn't quite right it may fly away and crash into something or someone or it might dive into the ground and smash itself into little pieces. You're happy with that? That's why you make sure you have full control of it and ONLY THEN DO you upgrade it for some autonomous functions.
