I've just bought a £3.99 LCD module off eBay and interfaced it to SPI and RESET with just 8 resistors. If you have 3V3 and 8V3 knocking around on your Arduino (I was using an external PSU and an ethernet shield) that's all you need.

There is a library to write text to the module, no code yet to do graphics.
