Cheap alternative for SIM800L with SMS support in 4G network

Hello,
In the near future 2G/3G will become obsolete, In that case will it be possible to send/receive SMS on SIM800L?
If no, Please suggest a cheap (~$5) 4G module that can send/receive SMS.

This 4G modem is $8, Anyone know which 4G module it uses?

I've found FS800E module which costs $5, but someone that used it said it doesn't support SMS function.
