I need a cheap easy way to connect some cables to the board. I don't have time to order them off the web. anyone have any ideas. Are there any cheap electronics that I can hack to get some connectors.

you might be able to salvage some break away headers from some old electronics, you can solder wires to the ends of those
I've used the power connectors from disk drives and the associated cable.
floppy drives have even smaller connectors.
