Cheap Mobile communications (GSM/GPRS/SMS) Shield?

Hello! I came across the GSM Playground but at the price, it's not exactly an entry-level component to play around with. Does anyone know of a shield that offers either GSM GPRS or SMS based communications? What are the options that are available? Like said, i've already came across GSM playground but it's a little too expensive.

I found this to be the cheapest one that I could find:

but back then I bought it direct from Libelium. and it was relatively cheap. See how it compares to other shields.
