Cheap way to make/buy waterproof temperature sensor

Hey, I want to make information system for my home central heating. I am searching something like thermocouple but digital(or analog) and waterproof. I want use 7 of them so I am searching cheapest way to do so.

Thanks for help

You can find the DS18B20 temperature sensor in a waterproof package. I bought some here: http://arduino-direct.com/sunshop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=151 The DS18B20 is well supported by the Arduino community. There is lots of info on this forum on how to connect a whole bunch of these sensors to an Arduino.

I shoved a DS18B20 into a piece of 3/8" tubing and sealed it with silicone. The sensor costs less than a dollar on ebay and the other materials I already had: the tubing/ball-point pen body and silicone. Covering the sensor in silicone will make it take a little longer( + 60 seconds maybe) for temperatures to equalize, but cheap is cheap right?

Yes it is cheap but I want something not home made. I found Waterproof stainless DS18B20 for 3 pounds so it's cheap
