Chip Question

Hey guys i would like to create an H-bridge that will allow my Arduino to control a small 5v DC Motor. i was wonder can -PS2501-4 Optoisolator work as the L293D motor controller/ driver chip (IC) on this site?

Thanks in advance for the help :)

Not sure why you don’t want to use a regularl motor driver IC, but…

I’ve never seen a circuit using opto-isolators for the drive elements of an H-bridge type of circuit, but I think it will work. You would be limited to 50 mA and you would have to use clamp diode across the transistors since you might get more than the max C-E voltage (7V) when you switch the motor off or PWM. I can’t think of any other reasons it won’t work.
